Description

Daphne Cazalet is an Indian-born artist who currently lives in Salento, Southern Italy. After a career in UK as a drama teacher and actress, Daphne transferred to Australia where she worked extensively in cultural development, creating art projects with migrant women and absorbing their stories. Turning to visual arts, Daphne attained a BA (1st class Hons.) in 2002 (James Cook University, Northern Queensland) and was awarded a PhD in visual arts practice and research in 2009 (Charles Darwin University, Darwin, NT). Daphne exhibited extensively in Australia and, since moving to Italy, has produced solo exhibitions in Rome, Bologna, Genoa, Montefiascone; as well as several exhibitions in her home province of Lecce, Puglia, and three exhibitions in London, UK.
